Laura Butler Rivera (AEA) is an international actor, director, and choreographer. She has performed, offered theater workshops, and taught in Turkey, Berlin, Japan, Lithuania, Romania, Italy, US, Australia, Colombia, Cuba, and Puerto Rico. Currently residing in Hanoi, Vietnam. She is a member of CABORCA; and a co-founder of One-Eighth Theater. She has directed Paroxysm of Film Noir (produced by Platform Sanat in Ankara, Turkey), Dark Eyes (Produced by Cloud of Fools) and La Metamorfosis (by Elia Chuaqui, a Playwright’s Thesis at Fordham University Lincoln Center) She has choreographed for M-34’s All That Dies And Rises and Hymn To Life. She is currently Faculty at Barnard College and The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts; And is one of the Artistic Directors for RFCUNY’s Student Shakespeare Festival. She holds an MFA in Acting from Columbia University, and a BA in Drama from the University of Puerto Rico.
