Laura Butler Rivera is an international actor, director, and choreographer. She has performed, offered theater workshops, and taught in Turkey, Berlin, Japan, Lithuania, Romania, Italy, US, Australia, Colombia, & Puerto Rico. She is an Artistic Director and performer of One-Eighth Theater (The Maids, Teach, Teacher, Teachest, UBU, The Proposal, & Cho H Cho developed at Mabou Mines), a member of CABORCA (The Entitlement -a Feature Film, Hamlet, Zoetrope, Open Up Hadrian, Las Minutas de Martí), and a co-founder of Cloud of Fools Theater Company (Dark Eyes, The Whistling Mortician and EUROPA). She has directed Paroxysm of Film Noir (produced by Platform Sanat in Ankara, Turkey), Dark Eyes (Produced by Cloud of Fools) and La Metamorfosis (by Elia Chuaqui for her Playwright’s Thesis at Fordham University Lincoln Center) She has choreographed for M-34 (All That Dies And Rises and Hymn To Life). She is currently Faculty at The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. She holds an MFA in Acting from Columbia University, and a BA in Drama from the University of Puerto Rico.
